Endura Key Management is secure and easy to use. It incorporates powerful key management features that provide the only key management designed specifi cally for mobile media. BlueScale Encryption is available in a Standard Edition, that manages a single key per library at one time, and the Professional Edition, that manages multiple keys at one time.

Encryption provides a value that has become increasingly important: it helps you dispose of data. Regulations increasingly specify how long data can be retained-after that point, organizations are required to dispose of it. But getting rid of stored, unencrypted data is diffi cult, so many organizations store data for longer than is legally prudent. Encrypted data is easy to destroy: identify the key used to encrypt data, then delete the key. The encrypted data is rendered unreadable, and the tape can be recycled. BlueScale Encryption works with the tapes you have today, and also works with Spectra Certifi ed Encryption Media. Certifi ed Encryption Media provides a signifi cant and secure advantage in data decryption. decrypt your data-even without a library
The Spectra Endura Decryption Utility (EDU) lets you restore data, with or without a library. This addresses logical concerns about any encryption scheme: how to decrypt data rapidly following a disaster or a long archival period. With EDU, even if you don't have a Spectra library easily accessible, you can still decrypt data. All you need to restore data is the tape, its key, and a computer running the Linux-based utility.
